WASHINGTON, Feb 7: A coalition of thirteen US attorneys general is preparing to initiate a lawsuit aimed at limiting the accessibility of information by the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is headed by billionaire Elon Musk, as stated by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“Recently, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has granted Elon Musk access to the private personal information of Americans, including state bank account information and other sensitive data critical to our nation. As the wealthiest individual globally, Elon Musk is accustomed to not being challenged, but in our nation, no one is above the law. The President lacks the authority to release our private information to anyone at will, nor can he eliminate federal payments sanctioned by Congress,” James remarked in her statement.
She emphasized that the level of access granted to DOGE is both unprecedented and intolerable. (UNI)
