Beijing/Lhasa, Jan 7: A 6.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the city of Xigaze in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of at least 32 individuals and leaving 38 others injured, according to state media.
The quake struck Dingri County in Xigaze at 9:05 am Tuesday (Beijing Time), as reported by the regional disaster relief headquarters.
State-run Xinhua news agency reported that 32 people lost their lives and 38 sustained injuries during this seismic event.
The epicenter was located at 28.5 degrees north latitude and 87.45 degrees east longitude.
This earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, as detailed in a report from the China Earthquake Networks Centre, state-run Xinhua added. (Agencies)
