Doda, Feb 2: The 3rd District Doda Wushu Championship 2024-25 concluded today at Iqra International School, attracting approximately 150 competitors from various schools and clubs across the district.
Organized by the District Doda Wushu Association in collaboration with the Wushu Association of J&K, and with support from the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), the event was a resounding success.
The closing ceremony featured Mohd Rizwan Wani, Regional Manager of Iqra International School Jammu Division, as the chief guest, accompanied by Nideem Zargar, Vice President of the District Doda Wushu Association, Babar Mujahid, Head Coach of Falcon Sports Academy, and Faisal Tanvir Wani, Sports Promoter from Doda. Mohd Rizwan Wani awarded medals and trophies to the winners, praising their outstanding performances and underscoring the pivotal role of sports in youth development. He also spoke about the perils of drug abuse and encouraged the athletes to remain dedicated to their aspirations.
The champions of this tournament have qualified for the upcoming 18th J&K UT Wushu Championships 2024-25, set to take place in Jammu from February 15 to 18, 2025.
