JAMMU, Jan 29: The traditional ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony signified the conclusion of the four-day Republic Day festivities held at MA Stadium today. Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha was the Chief Guest for this event.
The audience was captivated by the exhilarating patriotic melodies performed by the Brass Bands and Pipe Bands of the Armed Forces and J&K Police, alongside musical renditions of Ae Mere Watan ke Logon and various other enchanting tunes.
The ceremony also honored contingents from the Jammu Kashmir Police and Security Forces; Parade Commander, Deputy Parade Commander, Ex-Servicemen, officials from the Civil Administration; marching groups of NCC (Boys & Girls), cultural performers, children with special needs, and Tableaux from different departments, all recognized by the Lieutenant Governor for their exceptional contributions to the grand celebration.
Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor presented awards to the winners of the Patriotic Song Singing competition organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
The Beating Retreat ceremony concluded with the beloved ‘Saare Jahan Se Achha’, accompanied by a breathtaking display of fireworks and a sound & light show, followed by the National Anthem.
