POONCH, Jan 18: The 9th District Handball Championship, organized by the District Handball Association Poonch in partnership with the J&K Sports Council, concluded today at the Sports Stadium. The tournament featured six teams competing in a league-cum-knockout format. In the final match, Ajote Handball Club triumphed over Poonch Handball Club with a score of 24-20. The event was honored by the presence of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Qadeer Ul Rehman, who served as the chief guest. DYSSO Poonch, Mool Raj Uttam, attended as the guest of honour, while Mushtaq Ahmed, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, was the special guest.
Refereeing duties were managed by Imtiaz Ahmed Lone, Ghulam Abbas, and Sachin Sharma. The event also enjoyed the support of notable figures, including Kirtipal Sharma, President of the District Poonch Handball Association, along with various sports coaches. This championship showcased remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship.
