SRINAGAR, Jan 23: On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out raids in two districts of the Kashmir Valley concerning irregularities in the firemen selection process for the Fire & Emergency Services.
The first raid took place at the residence of a retired KAS Officer located in Batengoo, in Anantnag district, south Kashmir.
An official stated that the operation, led by a DySP, was executed in relation to FIR No. 01-2025, registered at the Central Kashmir Police Station.
This case pertains to the irregularities identified during the recruitment process of Fireman and Fireman Drivers within the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Department.
The second raid, as reported by sources, was conducted in the Aloochi Bagh area of Srinagar and is linked to the same irregularities concerning the Fireman and Fireman Drivers’ selection process.
The ACB is investigating several individuals, including members of the Departmental Recruitment Board, the Technical Committee, and various officers and officials of the F&ES Department involved in the recruitment process. (KDC)
