Actor Vivek Oberoi shares that his entrepreneurial endeavors have granted him the liberty to engage in acting and focus on the narratives that truly inspire him.
Oberoi is gearing up to start filming “Masti 4” with Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani early next year, and he is also slated to begin another schedule for an action thriller alongside Tiger Shroff. Recently, he wrapped up work on Vishal Ranjan Mishra’s action thriller “Grey,” where he stars opposite Nithya Menon.
Oberoi has successfully ventured into various business sectors, including real estate, jewelry, and technology.
Recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s debut OTT series “Indian Police Force,” he emphasized that his business pursuits synergize with his acting interests.
“Acting is my passion, and business facilitates that. It has allowed me to pursue my passion without constraints, freeing me from the pressure to engage in projects I don’t enjoy or cater to outside influences. My business provides me that freedom,” Oberoi told PTI in an interview.
He advocates for fostering economic independence, encouraging others to create a foundation that supports their aspirations and their families’ dreams. “Financial stability can secure your freedom and bring a sense of peace,” he remarked.
Currently, he is focused on expanding his diamond business, Solitario, which operates nearly 18 stores across the country.
“After Prime Minister Modi presented an Indian lab-grown diamond to Joe Biden, we observed a surge in customers requesting the same diamond,” he noted.
Oberoi attributes his financial independence mindset to his father, renowned actor Suresh Oberoi.
“My father instilled in us the importance of independence early on. During summer breaks, he would designate one month for luxury travel and the other for work. He would present me with various products, from perfumes to electronics, and I was tasked with managing costs and potential sales, learning about sales techniques and customer feedback,” he recalled.
Expressing contentment with his current life stage, Oberoi stated, “I’ve chosen to work at my own pace and engage in projects that bring me joy. Thanks to my successful business ventures, I can make those choices now.” He is known for his acclaimed performances in films like “Company,” “Saathiya,” “Dum,” and “Yuva.”
Working alongside Nithya Menon in “Grey” has been a remarkable experience for him, as he believes that collaborating with talented actors elevates performance quality. “Her skills as a performer are incredible. Working with such a talented actor enhances your own performance,” he said. (Agencies)
