“In celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8), the Adani Foundation recognized over 1,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ at an event in Mundra, Gujarat, reaffirming its dedication to building a gender-inclusive society and promoting women’s self-sufficiency,” the statement mentioned.
The Foundation has been diligently working in Kutch and surrounding areas to uplift women and enhance their independence.
By offering essential support and resources and facilitating skill development and entrepreneurial opportunities, it aims to improve their socio-economic status and encourage financial autonomy.
Additionally, the Foundation has played a vital role in mobilizing, supporting, and advising women to pursue positions at Adani Solar across various job functions, including roles in technical support, engineering, Human Resources (HR), manufacturing, and production.
“For women to advance effectively, backing from family, community, and the corporate sector is critical. When women are empowered to manage their professional and personal lives, they not only thrive in their careers but also contribute positively to their families and communities,” stated Pankti Shah, CSR Head, Gujarat, Adani Foundation.
Sharing her experiences, Gadhavi Sonal Ram, a Technical Associate at Adani Solar, noted, “Previously, it was nearly impossible for girls in my community to work due to safety concerns regarding transportation. However, with Adani Solar’s dedicated transport services, I can travel to my job securely, giving my family peace of mind.”
