JAMMU, Jan 13: As preparations for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations and a VVIP visit are underway, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, carried out a comprehensive security review late at night on January 12-13, 2025, focusing on the border districts of Samba and Kathua.
He was joined by senior officials including Shiv Kumar, DIG JSK Range, Shobit Saxena, SSP Kathua, Virender Manhas, SSP Samba, and other important personnel.
During the review, the ADGP evaluated the Border Management System, assessed the prevailing security conditions, and ensured readiness for the VVIP visit and Republic Day festivities.
Anand Jain stressed the critical nature of maintaining peace and security and instructed all officers to adopt heightened vigilance and proactive measures, guaranteeing that Republic Day activities occur in a safe, secure, and fair manner. Click here to watch video
He also underscored the necessity for robust coordination among different security agencies to tackle any potential issues.
The ADGP mandated the mobilization of extra forces in sensitive regions to preempt any unforeseen incidents.
He highlighted the value of intelligence collection and the timely dissemination of information to effectively combat security threats.
During the inspection, the ADGP assessed the performance of on-ground security teams, elevating their morale.
He also reviewed security measures at critical border points, including Sherpur Nala, Babbar Nala, Mawa, and Nandpur, encouraging officers to enhance joint Naka checking with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Police.
Anand Jain further directed officers to ensure a prominent presence in their areas, ramp up security patrols, and uphold effective law and order.
The ADGP highlighted the significance of engaging with the community and fostering trust between the police and the public to bolster collaborative efforts in maintaining security.
DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar, apprised the ADGP of the current security landscape and the initiatives being taken to promote peace and law enforcement across the region, particularly as Republic Day 2025 approaches.
