GANDERBAL, Dec 28: In light of the recent heavy snowfall across the Kashmir Valley, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the District Hospital Ganderbal today to evaluate the facilities and services provided to patients amid the extreme weather conditions.
During his visit, the Chief Minister examined various hospital units and assessed the availability of essential medications, staff presence, and the operation of the central heating system.
The Medical Superintendent informed the Chief Minister about the hospital’s readiness to deliver patient care, confirming that the central heating system is functioning optimally.
However, he mentioned challenges including a scarcity of medical personnel and ambulances in the district.
In reaction, CM Omar Abdullah reaffirmed his government’s dedication to improving healthcare services throughout Jammu & Kashmir, tackling critical shortages to fulfill public requirements.
He promised that measures would be implemented to address the concerns raised by the hospital administration. The Chief Minister instructed hospital officials to strictly adhere to the duty roster for medical and paramedical staff, ensuring uninterrupted services to prevent inconvenience for patients.
He was accompanied on his visit by his advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani, along with other relevant officials.
