NEW DELHI, Mar 5: Senior BJP figure Nishikant Dubey announced today that advancements in Artificial Intelligence could contribute an additional USD 1 trillion to India’s economy.
As the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communication and Information Technology, Dubey noted that the panel discussed the effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on sectors such as banking and revenue during their meeting on Wednesday.
“The Prime Minister is very committed to this initiative. He recently co-chaired the AI Action Summit. It is essential for India to advance with AI… We cannot halt technological progress. The economy is projected to grow by approximately USD 1 trillion solely through AI. Between 50 to 60 lakh jobs will be created,” Dubey stated.
In the same meeting, the committee also reviewed reports related to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology’s grant demands, which are anticipated to be presented in the second half of the upcoming Budget Session.
Dubey concluded by asserting that India is set to become a leader in the AI domain. (PTI)
