NEW DELHI, Feb 3: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Monday that states with a double-engine BJP government have made significant progress over the past decade, while Delhi has lagged behind due to the AAP’s continuous excuses and confrontations with the Central Government.
Speaking at a public gathering in Jangpura in South Delhi, Shah referred to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia as “bade miyan and chote miyan,” accusing them of exploiting the capital.
He highlighted that Sisodia, who is contesting from Jangpura Assembly seat, is the only education minister in India who has been imprisoned due to a liquor scandal.
“While states with a double-engine BJP government have seen growth over the last 10 years, Delhi remains stagnant because they perpetually quarrel with the Centre. They’ve been whining and making excuses for the past decade,” said Shah.
He claimed Kejriwal deceived the residents of Delhi, delivering nothing but waste, polluted water, and corruption.
“Bade miyan and chote miyan” have plundered Delhi under false pretenses. Both will face defeat in the upcoming elections,” asserted the senior BJP leader.
According to him, the BJP is the sole party capable of transforming Delhi into a world-class capital.
The elections in Delhi are scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. (PTI)
