NEW DELHI, Feb 9: On February 9, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that “Naxals” will be eliminated by March 31, 2026, ensuring that no citizen’s life is lost due to this issue.
Mr. Shah made this statement following the operation in Chhattisgarh where security forces eliminated 31 Maoists.
He affirmed on ‘X’ in Hindi, “I reaffirm my commitment that by March 31, 2026, we will completely eradicate Naxalism from India to prevent the loss of any citizen’s life.”
The Home Minister highlighted the significant achievements of the security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, in the campaign to make India free from Maoism.
He reported the killing of 31 Maoists during the operation, alongside the recovery of a large cache of arms and explosives.
Mr. Shah also acknowledged the sacrifice of two brave soldiers from the security forces who lost their lives in the fight against “anti-human Naxalism,” expressing that the nation will remain forever grateful to these heroes.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers,” he stated. (Agencies)
