New Delhi, Dec 19: On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level security review meeting focused on Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming the government’s steadfast commitment to realizing the objective of a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir” as soon as possible. He emphasized that all necessary resources would be allocated to achieve this aim, consistent with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “zero tolerance policy.”
Shah underscored the need to implement the “area domination plan” and “zero terror plan” in a “mission mode” to ensure the total elimination of terrorism from the region.
In his remarks at the security review meeting, Shah stated, “In accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Zero Tolerance Policy against terrorism, we will promptly work towards achieving the goal of ‘Terror-Free Jammu and Kashmir,’ with all resources dedicated to this cause.”
He noted that the Modi administration, alongside the unified efforts of all security forces, is determined to establish complete control over terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah also pointed out that the overwhelming participation of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections reflects their confidence in the country’s democratic system.
He commended the security agencies for the significant reduction in terrorist activities, infiltration, and the recruitment of youth into terrorist groups.
The Minister further remarked that as a result of the sustained and coordinated strategies of the Modi government, the underlying framework for terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has nearly collapsed.
He instructed all security agencies to maintain their collaborative efforts to eliminate terrorism in the region.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director (IB), RAW Chief, Chief of Army Staff, GOC-in-C (Northern Command), DGMO, Chief Secretary and DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, along with heads of CAPFs and other senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
This meeting holds significance as it reflects the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government’s dedication to taking aggressive measures against terrorism through innovative approaches.
