KATRA, Jan 13: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine’s natural cave will be accessible to devotees in celebration of Makar Sankranti on Tuesday. According to an official, the natural cave will be opened for pilgrims to offer their prayers at the Pindies of Mata Vaishno Devi after the customary Aarti on Tuesday. The cave is anticipated to remain open for a month, depending on the influx of pilgrims, the official mentioned. It is worth noting that the natural cave is opened annually on Makar Sankranti, which occurs on January 14. Due to the continuous heavy flow of visitors throughout the year, the cave is usually closed for general pilgrimage. There is often a demand from devotees for the traditional natural cave to be opened, and it is made available for darshan only once a year. In order to cater to this desire for a visit through the natural cave, the Shrine Board has also recently introduced virtual darshan arrangements.
