LONDON, Jan 3: British actor Andrew Garfield has dispelled rumors about his potential appearance in the forthcoming Marvel Studios film “Spider-Man 4”.
Garfield acknowledged, however, that fans might not take his word for it, as he previously denied involvement in the Tom Holland-led 2021 film “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, only to make a significant cameo alongside Tobey Maguire.
“I’m going to let you down. No, it’s not happening. But I understand that no one will believe what I say from now on,” the 41-year-old actor expressed in an interview with GQ UK.
Nonetheless, Garfield mentioned he wouldn’t entirely reject the possibility of appearing in a major franchise.
“If it aligned with my values and seemed enjoyable, then perhaps. I might end up having five kids someday, and it wouldn’t hurt to start saving for their education,” he commented.
Garfield first portrayed Spider-Man in the 2012 film “The Amazing Spider-Man” and reprised his role in the 2014 sequel “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”. He returned once again as the iconic superhero in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which also featured Maguire reprising his role from his 2000s trilogy.
“Spider-Man 4” will see Holland returning as the titular superhero, alongside Zendaya as MJ. Filming is expected to commence in the summer of 2025, with a theatrical release planned for July 24, 2026, in the US. (PTI)
