JAMMU, Jan 18: This statement addresses recent allegations suggesting that the personnel transfers within the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir were punitive measures against those exposing corruption. Such claims are misleading and factually incorrect.
Transfers are a standard administrative practice and part of service operations, and the government is dedicated to maintaining uninterrupted efforts to combat corruption.
One officer recently transferred from the ACB had served for over six years, significantly surpassing the typical tenure for such roles, while two others had completed three-year terms.
These transfers were due and consistent with standard rotational policies observed across government agencies. Any assertion that these officers were removed for exposing corruption is unfounded.
In actuality, the rotation of personnel in the Bureau was planned for 2023, but it faced delays due to administrative challenges. Misrepresenting a routine transfer as politically motivated distorts the truth and erodes public trust in institutions. None of the involved officers are linked to the investigation or oversight of any recently filed FIRs with the ACB.
The ACB continues to operate fully, carrying out its mission to investigate corruption cases impartially and free from external influence. Routine personnel changes do not compromise the agency’s integrity or operations, and the government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and due process in its anti-corruption efforts.
