JAMMU, Mar 6: The Anti-Corruption Foundation of India has honored Yasha Mudgal, Commissioner Secretary of the Tourism Department in Jammu & Kashmir, with the esteemed “Duty Officer Award.”
This recognition highlights her outstanding leadership and commitment to fostering the growth and promotion of tourism in the Union Territory.
Mudgal has played a vital role in developing policies and launching innovative programs that have significantly influenced the tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir. The Anti-Corruption Foundation praised her visionary approach and the effective implementation of these initiatives, which have been crucial in enhancing the tourism industry.
Under her guidance, Jammu & Kashmir has experienced an increase in high-profile tourism events, establishing the Union Territory as a leading destination for adventure, sports, and cultural tourism. Notable events such as the F4 Mega Car Show in Srinagar, Sunburn in Jammu, the J&K Tourism Development Conclave in Srinagar, the inaugural Kashmir Marathon, and the 4th PGTI J&K Golf Open 2024 in Jammu have significantly bolstered tourism, drawing visitors from across the nation and around the globe. These initiatives have enriched the tourism experience and contributed to the region’s economic development.
To further solidify J&K’s status as a prime destination for tourism and business, the J&K Tourism Department recently hosted a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) outreach event in Mumbai, led by the Chief Minister of J&K. This initiative aimed to position J&K as a key hub for business tourism and corporate events.
Additionally, the department was actively involved in SATTE (South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange) 2024 in New Delhi, one of the region’s largest travel trade exhibitions. This event showcased J&K’s tourism potential, attracted investors, and fostered strategic partnerships with global players in the travel and hospitality sectors.
The award acknowledges Mudgal’s accomplishments with the support of the higher authorities of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and reflects the government’s ongoing dedication to promoting tourism, transparency, and efficiency in governance. This recognition underscores the Government’s commitment to establishing Jammu & Kashmir as a premier destination for international tourists.
The award was conferred by Nazakat Choudhary, Director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation of India and Brand Ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission in J&K.
