JAMMU, Jan 30: On Thursday, Army personnel successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of heavily armed militants along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to security officials.
Vigilant Army troops detected the movement of terrorists attempting to cross over into this side from the LoC in the Khari Karmara area, which resulted in a gunfight between both parties, the officials reported.
According to them, at least two militants were struck by bullets during the Army’s return fire, though it remains unclear whether they were killed or wounded.
Reinforcements have arrived at the location amidst dense foliage, and a search operation is currently in progress, with further details anticipated, the officials stated.
