SRINAGAR, Jan 22: An Army soldier tragically lost his life after being struck by a bullet from his service rifle in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, according to reports from officials.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain uncertain, particularly whether it was an accidental discharge or a deliberate act of suicide.
The soldier, who was from Punjab, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was declared dead at the scene, officials stated.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine whether the rifle fired accidentally or if it was a case of self-inflicted injury.
