JAMMU, Dec 9: An army soldier lost his life in a mine explosion near the Line of Control in the Mandi area of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday.
Officials reported that while patrolling the LoC, an army soldier inadvertently stepped on a mine, causing it to detonate.
In this incident, one soldier, identified as Havildar Subaish (39), suffered critical injuries. He was promptly transported to a medical facility, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Subsequently, the police have filed a case regarding the incident and an investigation is underway.
