POONCH/JAMMU, Jan 6: On Monday, the Army successfully prevented a woman from crossing into Pakistan-occupied-Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) after a domestic dispute in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to sources.
Shaheen Akhtar, aged 35 and the wife of Mohd Akram Faiza, was stopped by Army personnel near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Shahpur sector while she was trying to enter PoK, they revealed.
Following a comprehensive interrogation and necessary verification, Shaheen was returned to her family members.
She resides in Mohalla Jatna in the Shahpur area, and her husband is currently employed in Saudi Arabia. Disturbed by a conflict with her in-laws, she attempted to migrate to PoJK, the sources noted.
Local police and administration have been alerted, and an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
