‘Military personnel ensuring safety for the public’

JAMMU, Dec 7: The Armed Forces Flag Day was celebrated today in J&K. On this occasion, the Armed Forces flag was affixed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan.

Sinha expressed his heartfelt gratitude by donating to the ‘Armed Forces Flag Day Fund’ to honor the courage and ultimate sacrifices of our brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen. He noted that our Armed Forces have consistently stood ready to serve the nation, showing commitment and dedication, especially during natural disasters.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, the Army has been integral in fighting terrorism and establishing a secure environment for residents, especially those living near the borders and in remote areas of the Union Territory.
Thanks to the significant efforts of our armed forces, we are moving towards a historic phase of rapid socio-economic development, working diligently to ensure that the benefits of progress reach every corner of the Union Territory,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.
He called upon the residents of J&K, especially those in privileged sections of society, to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, as a sign of remembrance and gratitude.
“I extend my best wishes to all serving and retired Armed Forces personnel and their families on this Armed Forces Flag Day,” he added.
Brig. Gurmeet Singh Shan (Retd.), Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, J&K provided the Lieutenant Governor with an overview of various welfare schemes and initiatives for Veterans, Veer Naris, families, and serving Armed Forces members.
Col BS Sambyal (Retd.); Col SS Assla (Retd.); Col MS Bhau (Retd.); Wg Cdr Tirath Singh (Retd.); Subhash Chander; Suresh Kumar, and veterans including Bawa Singh; Ashwani Kumar; Ashok Kumar; Janak Singh; and Rajinder Kumar were in attendance.
