SRINAGAR, Dec 17: On Tuesday, the authorities in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir issued a ban on private tutoring by government teachers, warning of disciplinary measures for any offenders.
“Following the directives from the School Education Department and the explicit instructions circulated by this office, all lecturers, masters, and teachers under this office’s administrative jurisdiction are instructed to refrain from engaging in private tutoring, employment at private institutions, or coaching centres,” stated a circular from the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Anantnag.
The circular also instructed all DDOS/HOls to confirm that “no lecturer, master, or teacher is illegally involved in private tutoring or coaching.”
“If any teaching staff is discovered violating these directives, strict actions will be taken as it constitutes a serious infringement of the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Service Conduct Rules, 1971,” the CEO emphasized in the circular.
The official further noted that the zonal-level monitoring committees that were established earlier have been tasked with closely monitoring and promptly reporting any violations to his office.
“Any deviation from these instructions will result in disciplinary actions as prescribed by the rules,” the circular warned.
