- Deputy Commissioner honors J&K medalists for their outstanding achievements
BARAMULLA, JAN 11: Young karate athletes from Baramulla, aged between 7 and 10, were recognized by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa at his office for their remarkable accomplishments in the JKS South Asia Karate Championship 2025, which took place in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. This talented team earned 3 gold medals and one bronze medal, highlighting their dedication and skill. Their journey began in 2024 at the 1st North India Karate Championship in Jammu, where they claimed 4 gold medals and received the esteemed Best Discipline Award, a testament to their sportsmanship and commitment.
During the recognition ceremony, the DC expressed his pride in their success, stating, “This is a significant achievement for our district. I promise to provide every possible resource to these young talents so they can compete not only nationally but internationally.”
