RAJOURI, Dec 15: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) in Rajouri celebrated its 21st Foundation Day with great enthusiasm, commemorating over two decades of excellence in academics, innovation, and community service.
The event featured Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, the Vice-Chancellor of BGSBU, who served as the chief guest. He extended his congratulations to the entire BGSBU community, including faculty, students, staff, and alumni, on this significant milestone.
“BGSBU has established itself as a beacon of higher education, research, and innovation. Over these 21 years, we have endeavored to provide quality education and foster an inclusive environment where students can flourish and make meaningful contributions to society. As we celebrate today, we renew our dedication to academic excellence and societal progress,” he remarked.
Prof. Iqbal announced that four-year Undergraduate (UG) programs, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, will be launched in various schools starting from the next academic year.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the importance of fostering a student-friendly atmosphere by enhancing facilities such as digital learning resources, contemporary classrooms, recreational areas, and comprehensive mentorship programs aimed at the holistic development and well-being of students.
During the event, distinguished alumni were recognized for their remarkable achievements across diverse fields, celebrating their contributions to the university and society at large.
The event was further enlivened by a cultural program presented by BGSBU students, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the campus. Their performances, which included traditional dance and music, illustrated the vibrant heritage and the spirit of unity in diversity that the university cherishes.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. A A Shah, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, followed by a vote of thanks from the University Registrar, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza. Present at the event were Associate Deans from various Schools, the Controller of Examinations, Heads of Departments, faculty members, university staff, students, and research scholars.
