JAMMU, Feb 4: Bharat Tex 2025, a significant international textile exhibition, is poised to be instrumental in India’s ambition of reaching a $100 billion textiles export milestone by 2030.
This statement was made by Dr. Romesh Khajuria, Chairman of the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC) under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Dr. Khajuria attended the 4th meeting of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) Board of Directors in New Delhi.
The meeting included notable figures from seven textile export promotion councils, such as Naren Goenka (Chairman of BTTF), Badhresh Dhodia (Chairman), and Rakesh Kumar (Secretary General of BTTF). During his address, Dr. Khajuria highlighted the significant international interest already being generated by the event.
“Currently, over 7,831 buyers have registered, which includes 3,607 international buyers, 1,176 sourcing consultants, and 1,896 business visitors. We anticipate the participation of foreign buyers from 126 countries, with representations such as 1,706 from Asia, 686 from Europe, 210 from Africa, 107 from Oceania, 325 from North America, 89 from South America, and 8 from the Caribbean,” he remarked.
As part of its global outreach, WWEPC has invited over 275 international buyers from countries including Australia, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Germany, Russia, and Belarus. Additionally, more than 100 exhibitors will attend via WWEPC.
Dr. Khajuria, who also chairs the Jammu Kashmir Wool Development and Marketing Association (JKWDMA), shared that the Jammu Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) will actively participate in Bharat Tex 2025 with over 45 entrepreneurs from Kashmir.
The Bharat Tex 2025 event is scheduled to take place for the second time from February 12-15, 2025, at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, and from February 14-17, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It is expected to be one of the largest international textile fairs, featuring more than 3,500 exhibitors and over 3,000 international buyers.
The exhibition will cover a vast area of around 200,000 square meters and is projected to attract over 100,000 visitors.
