Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 2: On Sunday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar remarked that India has experienced remarkable economic growth over the past decade, positioning it as the fastest-growing economy in the world during this timeframe.
He made these comments while delivering the 4th P Parameswaran Memorial Lecture, organized by the Bharatheeya Vichara Kendra in Thiruvananthapuram.
Dhankar reflected on his earlier experiences in 1989 as an MP and again in 1991 as a Union Minister, stating that the “climate at that time lacked inspiration”.
“Today, our Bharat is overflowing with optimism and potential, filled with hopes and aspirations. We can see a pervasive ecosystem of opportunity and expectation. In the past decade, India has experienced significant economic growth,” he stated.
He added that the country is currently the fifth-largest economy globally and is nearing the achievement of becoming a USD 4 trillion economy shortly.
“With an average growth rate of 8 percent, India has emerged as the fastest-growing economy worldwide in the past decade,” he claimed. (Agencies)
