Jammu, Feb 3: Bhim Sen Tuti, an IPS officer from the 2004 batch, has officially taken charge as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Jammu zone as of Monday, according to officials.
He has succeeded the outgoing Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain, who has been reassigned to the role of ADGP Armed Police.
Prior to this appointment, Officer Tuti held various positions in the police force, such as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Sopore, Superintendent of Police in both Leh and Kishtwar districts, as well as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) overseeing two ranges and IGP at Police Headquarters.
Throughout his career, he has also served on deputation in Jharkhand and the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by DIG Shiv Kumar and other senior officials from Jammu district. The outgoing ADGP provided a briefing on the current challenges in crime, militancy, and law enforcement within the Jammu region.
An introductory meeting followed, where the new IGP outlined key issues and challenges facing the Jammu zone, officials reported.
