JAMMU, Feb 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu & Kashmir convened a meeting for its MLAs at the headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu to discuss the prevailing law and order conditions in the region.
The meeting was addressed by Sat Sharma, President of J&K BJP; Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition; and Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), J&K BJP.
Attendees included Dr. Narinder Singh, Sham Lal Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Surjit Singh Salathia, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Chander Prakash Ganga, Rajiv Jasrotia, Vikram Randhawa, Balwant Singh Mankotia, R S Pathania, Surinder Bhagat, Vijay Sharma, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Sunil Bhardwaj, Shagun Parihar, Satish Sharma, and Rajeev Bhagat.
During the meeting, Sat Sharma raised concerns regarding the recent surge in criminal activities, urging MLAs to actively collaborate with the administration and the police to combat issues such as shoot-outs, drug problems, and thefts. He emphasized that these incidents should not incite public unrest and encouraged all party MLAs to connect with the community. He reiterated that, although the BJP is not part of the Government in Jammu & Kashmir, it remains the duty of its MLAs to vigorously represent the people’s issues for resolution.
Sunil Sharma emphasized the commitment of BJP MLAs to the party and the welfare of citizens, asserting that they will ensure every voice is represented in the Government. He expressed that the party upholds the principle of “Antodaya”, which focuses on the upliftment of the most marginalized and oppressed groups. He assured that the MLAs will play their role in addressing law-and-order challenges and will advocate for every pertinent issue faced by the populace in the assembly.
Ashok Koul highlighted the party’s success in earning the trust of the people across Jammu & Kashmir. He noted the enthusiastic support for the BJP in the 2024 Assembly elections, which resulted in the election of 29 MLAs with a significant percentage of votes. He stated that it is now the duty of these MLAs to maintain the confidence placed in them by the electorate.
