JAMMU, Dec 28: The BJP commemorated and honored former Finance Minister and esteemed leader Arun Jaitley on the occasion of his 72nd birth anniversary.
Arun Jaitley was a multifaceted individual embodying integrity, intellect, and leadership, serving as a lasting inspiration for millions, remarked Aseem Gupta, vice president of Jammu and Kashmir BJP, while recalling Jaitley’s contributions.
Gupta described Jaitley as a distinguished lawyer, visionary statesman, notable politician, and an exceptional mentor. “As we reflect on his remarkable contributions today, we recognize how his legacy continues to influence India’s socio-economic and political landscape.”
Jaitley’s rise to prominence began with his academic prowess, earning a law degree from Delhi University. His sharp intellect and oratory skills rapidly brought him into the public eye, marking the start of his political career as a student leader with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), where he showcased his steadfast commitment to democratic principles.
“As a legal expert, Jaitley represented some of the most significant cases in Indian history, leaving a lasting impact on the judiciary,” Aseem noted, adding that his remarkable ability to distill complex legal arguments earned him the reputation of being one of the most sought-after lawyers in the country.
Aseem Gupta emphasized that as a senior BJP leader, Jaitley was instrumental in crafting the party’s policies and strategies. His tenure as Finance Minister was marked by groundbreaking reforms, most notably advocating for the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which streamlined India’s tax structure and established a cohesive economic framework.

During a separate event organized by Karan Sharma and others, floral tributes were paid to Arun Jaitley on his birth anniversary, where heartfelt homage was rendered to this remarkable leader.
