Sat Sharma Honors Chander Mohan as Part of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Birth Centenary Celebrations
Excelsior Correspondent, JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Feb 9: In celebration of the birth centenary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized events today in both Jammu and Kashmir.
During the event in Jammu, J&K BJP President Sat Sharma honored Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma, a senior BJP leader, for his longstanding association with Vajpayee. Sharma stated that the BJP is dedicated to commemorating the birth centenary year of Atal Bihari Vajpayee through a series of programs slated throughout the year. He noted that party leaders are recognizing influential figures from society who have closely worked with Vajpayee. He further highlighted that Chander Mohan Sharma has been devoted to the nation, society, and the organization since his youth, maintaining a strong connection with Vajpayee throughout his political career.
Chander Mohan Sharma expressed his gratitude for the party’s recognition and remarked that senior activists are enthusiastic about participating in various programs planned for the centenary celebrations of the former Prime Minister. He emphasized that Vajpayee’s legacy cannot be encapsulated in mere minutes, as his every appearance left a lasting impression on the hearts of people across diverse regions and communities.
The occasion was also attended by Adv. Rajesh Gupta, President of BJP District Jammu, along with other notable figures such as Reema Padha, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, and Suneet Raina.
Meanwhile, the BJP’s Kashmir unit marked the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by hosting a series of events. Participants reflected on Vajpayee’s remarkable leadership qualities and his ability to guide the nation through difficult times.
Ashok Koul, the BJP General Secretary (Organization) for J&K, emphasized Vajpayee’s significant rapport with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Senior leaders Ashraf Azad and Mushtaq Noorabadi shared personal anecdotes from their experiences with Vajpayee. Koul reiterated that Vajpayee’s leadership and contributions continue to inspire the nation, affirming the BJP’s commitment to promoting his ideals throughout Kashmir.
Other senior leaders present included Altaf Thakur, Mudasir Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sheikh Bashir, Salinder Singh, Showkat Gayoor, Program Incharge Central Kashmir Khalid Baqaal, South Kashmir Incharge Abid Husain Nangroo, North Kashmir Incharge Fida Hussain, and Program Media Incharge Kashmir Showkat Shah.
