Cadbury’s Royal Supplier Status Revoked After 170 Years: Reports

LONDON, Dec 24: The British confectionery behemoth, Cadbury, has officially lost its supplier status to the British Royal Family after an impressive 170 years, spanning six monarchs, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Cadbury is one of 100 companies that did not have their Royal Warrant renewed by King Charles III. The Royal Warrant is awarded to brands that supply the Royal Household regularly for a minimum of five years, according to the publication.
This significant loss of supplier status followed its acquisition by the US firm Mondelez and subsequent criticisms suggesting that Cadbury had “betrayed its heritage” by introducing unconventional new recipes and shifting chocolate production overseas.
As per the publication, Queen Victoria initially granted Cadbury this esteemed Royal Warrant in 1854, and the late Queen Elizabeth II was an ardent admirer of the brand, eagerly receiving boxes of its chocolates every Christmas. However, in recent times, Cadbury’s product supply to the Royal Household has dramatically dwindled.
Furthermore, the publication states that Unilever, a global manufacturer of consumer goods and food products, has also lost its Royal Warrant.
