DAMASCUS, Feb 3:
A devastating car bomb exploded on the outskirts of a northern Syrian city on Monday, resulting in at least 15 fatalities and numerous injuries, according to local civil defense reports and a war monitoring group.
The explosion occurred near Manbij, targeting a vehicle transporting agricultural workers, leading to the deaths of 14 women and one man, as reported by the Syrian civil defense. Additionally, 15 women sustained injuries, with several in critical condition. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in Britain, reported that the death toll included 18 women and one man.
Despite the fall of President Bashar Assad in December, violence persists in Manbij, located in northeastern Aleppo province. Here, clashes continue between Turkish-backed factions known as the Syrian National Army and the US-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces. (AP)
