New Delhi, Feb 22: The CBI has filed an FIR against three railway officials for allegedly tampering with a recruitment examination to facilitate a job placement for an individual in exchange for Rs 15 lakh, officials indicated on Saturday.
This action by the federal agency was based on a referral from the vigilance department of the Central Railway, they stated.
The FIR specifically identifies Goods Train Manager Rajendra Kumar Meena, Assistant TRD Helper Sapna Meena, and Tech-II Chetram Meena — all working in the Kota division of the West Central Railway — along with a private individual, Lakshmi Meena, who reportedly posed as a substitute and took the exam on behalf of another candidate.
It was alleged that Sapna Meena conspired with the others to illegally secure a job for someone within the Indian Railways in exchange for a bribe of Rs 15 lakh.
“Additionally, it was alleged that the impostor (Lakshmi Meena) participated in the railway examination, using doctored identities, photographs, and fingerprints throughout the Railway Recruitment Exam selection process,” stated a spokesperson for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The agency has executed searches at the residences of the accused located in Kota and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan, the statement added. (PTI)
