DODA, Dec 27: Today, the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of the local police successfully recovered Rs. 2,16,400 that had been defrauded online.
The Doda Police provided information regarding several complaints received from Fozia Banoo, daughter of Mohd Rafi from Khellani, Doda; Zaheer Abbas, son of Abdul Rashid Wani from Jathi Assar; Shafika Begum, wife of Talib Hussain from Kako, Tehsil Gandoh, Doda; and Chanchla Devi, widow of Lt. Mulkh Raj from Punyalla, Doda.
Through diligent investigation efforts, the CCIU team was able to recover the misappropriated amount of Rs. 2,16,400.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, has urged the public to stay vigilant and report online scams immediately by calling the National Helpline number 1930 or by submitting reports at www.cybercrime.gov.in. Additionally, in cases of lost or stolen mobile devices, reports can be made at www.ceir.gov.in.
