LEH, Dec 4: Adv Tashi Gyalson, the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), accompanied by Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel, had an audience with the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, at his office in Parliament.
During their discussion, the CEC presented a memorandum to the Minister, urging his assistance in facilitating the arrival of holy relics of Lord Buddha to Ladakh in the forthcoming summer months. This initiative is anticipated to play a crucial role in highlighting Ladakh’s rich Buddhist heritage and enhancing its cultural associations.
Moreover, the CEC addressed several concerns related to the minority communities in Ladakh. He conveyed his sincere appreciation to Kiren Rijiju for his continuous support to the region and expressed his expectations for ongoing cooperation in meeting the needs of the local populace.
The Minister committed to providing all possible assistance regarding the issues discussed, reaffirming his dedication to the advancement and well-being of the diverse communities in Ladakh.
