JAMMU, Feb 16: The 648th Birthday of Shree Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a revered saint in India, was celebrated today with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervor. The celebration drew a large assembly of devotees from various parts of the Jammu region.
During the ceremony, Sat Sharma (CA), BJP State president/ex-Minister, along with MLA Arvind Gupta, reflected on the life and teachings of Guru Ji, encouraging attendees to embody his principles.
Speaking on Guru Ji’s profound influence, Zorawar Singh, Dev Raj Angral, and Ramesh Angurana acknowledged his efforts in promoting dignity and respect across societal segments.
A parallel event took place at the Guru Ravidas Temple in Gho Manhasa, where Balbir Ram Rattan, national general secretary of Guru Ravidas Vishwa Mahapeeth and member of Begampura Vishwa Mahasabha, emphasized Guru Ji’s pivotal message regarding social equality and justice. He asserted that caste discrimination should have no place in devotion to God or service to humanity.
“Guru Ravidas’s life imparts the essential lesson of equal rights and opportunities for all individuals in society,” Balbir affirmed, urging a collective effort to dismantle caste bias and narrow-minded superiority complexes by embracing Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings.
Rajinder Singh Chib, former president of Gho Manhasa Municipal Committee, highlighted the importance of disseminating Guru Ravidass’s message to a wider audience.
