REASI, Dec 26: Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Tashi Rabstan, inaugurated the Court Complex Katra today, accompanied by Justice Mohammad Akram Choudhary, the Administrative Judge for Reasi district.
During his address, the Chief Justice emphasized the significant role of the Bench and Bar in fostering public trust in the judiciary and the justice delivery system. He remarked, “Individuals approach the courts with great expectations, viewing them as ‘Temples of Justice’ where they anticipate fair treatment, and it is incumbent upon the courts to ensure that justice is accessible and straightforward for all litigants.”
Touching upon the constitutional rights guaranteed by the supreme law of the land, The Constitution of India, the Chief Justice noted that advancements in technology are enabling the realization of the goal to provide affordable and expedited justice. This progress will ultimately help alleviate the judiciary’s caseload and expedite the resolution of cases, he added.
In discussions with members of the Bar and Bench, as well as officials from the Civil and Police administration, the Chief Justice remarked that the Judiciary and Executive must collaborate effectively to deliver prompt and quality justice while ensuring law and order for the greater benefit of society. He stated that, within the constitutional framework, all branches—judiciary, executive, and police—share a collective responsibility to administer justice, as they embody constitutional trust.
The Chief Justice also conducted an inspection of various sections of the Court Complex Katra, providing several on-the-spot directives.
Present at the event were Registrar General Shahzad Azeem, Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi Suresh Chander Kattal, Registrar Rules Rajinder Sapru, Member Secretary of the State Legal Services Authority Amit Gupta, Registrar IT Anoop Sharma, Judicial Officers from District Reasi and Katra, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik, Senior Superintendent of Police Katra, and members of the Bar Association from Reasi and Katra.
