JAMMU, Dec 25: Chitra Singh Jamwal, the talented all-rounder from J&K, has reached an impressive milestone by scoring over 1000 runs in her Senior Women’s One Day cricket career, achieving this in just 35 innings. She accomplished this feat by making 31 runs against Andhra Pradesh prior to the significant quarter-final match against Madhya Pradesh.
As a representative of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Chitra’s total runs now stand at 1097 across 36 innings, with an impressive average of 39. Her career highlights include three centuries and six half-centuries in the BCCI’s Domestic One-Day Tournament. In her last 14 innings, she has amassed 597 runs, boasting a remarkable average of 68.
Chitra, who debuted in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy at 12 years old, is recognized as the first woman cricketer from J&K to score a century on the national level. In September 2024, she was also selected for the esteemed Women’s Fast Bowling Camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
