Srinagar, Dec 14: On Saturday, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted operations at several locations, including the district jail in Anantnag, as part of a terror-related investigation, officials reported.
The CIK and local police executed searches at various sites throughout the union territory as part of an ongoing inquiry, they stated.
In Anantnag district, located in south Kashmir, CIK teams arrived at the District Jail Mattan and inspected multiple blocks and barracks, the officials noted.
Raids were also performed at two additional sites — Sonigam and Chawalgam — in the neighboring Kulgam district, according to officials.
As part of the probe, searches were conducted at two sites in Udhampur district and in Jammu as well, officials mentioned.
During the operation, six to eight digital devices, including mobile phones and tablets, were seized, they added.
These raids were initiated after tracing technical signatures found within the jail premises and connections to other suspects at various locations within an ongoing investigation into terror activities, the officials remarked.
