SRINAGAR, Dec 19: An armed confrontation erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, according to officials.
The security forces initiated a cordon-and-search operation at Kadder in the Behibagh area the previous night based on intelligence regarding the suspected presence of terrorists, as reported by the officials.
The operation escalated into an encounter when the terrorists opened fire, prompting a response from the security personnel.
