Jammu, Feb 7: The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, convened a meeting with representatives from the industry, tourism, and education sectors on Friday, aiming to ensure that their concerns influence the forthcoming budget and policies of the Union territory.
This marks the chief minister’s third pre-budget consultation within a span of three days, having previously engaged in extensive discussions, both online and offline, with MLAs from various districts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Abdullah underscored the importance of these consultations to guarantee that the suggestions from people’s representatives are taken into account, shaping the budget to align with their needs and aspirations.
“I conducted pre-budget consultations with stakeholders across industry, tourism, and education, ensuring that their concerns will guide our budget and policies,” Abdullah shared on X.
He highlighted that discussions centered around elevating Jammu as a premier religious and pilgrimage tourism destination, enhancing trade policies, promoting industrial growth, and developing sports infrastructure.
As part of these initiatives, he had previously conducted a series of consultative meetings with District Development Council chairpersons and MLAs from Baramulla, Udhampur, Kulgam, Ramban, Anantnag, Kathua, Samba, and Budgam.
