NEW DELHI, Dec 18: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed profound sorrow today over the tragic fire incident in Kathua district that resulted in the loss of six lives.
In his message of condolence, he referred to the incident as profoundly distressing, especially given that it resulted in the deaths of six individuals and injured four others.

“Learning about this tragedy where six lives were lost is truly heart-wrenching. I offer my prayers for eternal peace for the departed souls and for the swift recovery of the injured,” he stated.
The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, invoking strength and resilience for them during this challenging time.
The fire, which erupted early Wednesday morning in a rented dwelling, resulted in six fatalities, including two minors, due to suffocation.
The victims were transported to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Kathua, where they were pronounced ‘brought dead.’
Meanwhile, four others injured in the incident are currently receiving medical care.
The Chief Minister ensured that the injured are receiving the highest standard of medical attention.
“I have instructed the relevant authorities to guarantee that the injured obtain the best possible treatment for a smooth recovery,” he remarked.
