JAMMU, January 21: Today, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah launched the calendars for 2025 and trekking maps developed by the Department of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, at a ceremony held in the Civil Secretariat.
The event saw the presence of the Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Commissioner Secretary of Tourism Yasha Mudgal, and key Directors of Tourism from both Kashmir and Jammu, along with other stakeholders.
The Chief Minister commenced the launch of wall calendars, table calendars for 2025, and trekking maps that feature a range of scenic and tourist destinations, thus highlighting the abundant tourism potential in Jammu and Kashmir.
These calendars encapsulate the breathtaking vistas, cultural heritage, and tourist attractions that the region has to offer.
The trekking maps outline several notable trails, including: The Kolahoi Glacier Trek, Khrew-Wasterwan Trail, Gurez-Sonamarg Trek, Sarbal Bear Valley Trek, and Margan Pass Tsoharmarg Trek.
Praising the efforts of the Tourism Department, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of such endeavors in promoting Jammu and Kashmir as a premier travel destination.
He stated, “These calendars and trekking maps will act as essential resources in informing individuals about the astonishing tourist spots and trekking options in our region. This initiative is bound to entice more visitors to explore the natural beauty and adventure that our state presents.”
