Lucknow, February 19: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized on Wednesday that any attempts by the opposition to “discredit the Maha Kumbh through false narratives” will not be tolerated, nor will any disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma.
Addressing the state assembly, he stated that the Maha Kumbh Mela is not merely a religious gathering, but a representation of India’s cultural and spiritual legacy.
Accusing the opposition of disseminating misinformation about the event, he remarked, “Sanatan Dharma embodies the essence of India, and it is our responsibility to maintain its honor. The opposition’s efforts to tarnish the Maha Kumbh with deceitful narratives will not be accepted.” The Chief Minister regarded the Maha Kumbh as a treasure of Indian culture and criticized opposition parties for leading people astray. He affirmed his government’s dedication to ensuring the event is historic and magnificent.
Responding to derogatory remarks made by opposition leaders in the assembly, he accused them of attempting to undermine this sacred event with unfounded claims.
He further remarked that the opposition has persistently engaged in spreading “false propaganda” against the Maha Kumbh, showing a blatant disregard for its spiritual and cultural importance. (Agencies)
