Srinagar, Dec 20: With an ongoing dry spell affecting many regions of the valley, the Summer capital, Srinagar, has experienced the coldest night of the season thus far, registering a temperature of minus 6.2 degrees Celsius.
Numerous areas in the valley have recorded a consistent decline in temperatures, with both UT capitals witnessing their coldest nights on Friday.
The renowned ski destination, Gulmarg, reported a minimum temperature of minus 6.0 degrees Celsius.
Pahalgam, known for its tourism, indicated a low of minus 8.2 degrees Celsius, while Shopian in South Kashmir noted a chilling low of minus 10.0 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Qazigund, often referred to as the gateway to Kashmir, logged a low of minus 7.6 degrees Celsius, and Kupwara in northern Kashmir recorded minus 6.5 degrees Celsius.
