On March 1, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Tariq Hameed Karra stated that the Congress party is welcoming individuals interested in contributing to the political dialogue and developmental efforts in the region. He emphasized that the Congress is committed to empowering individuals and fostering equitable growth within the Union Territory.
“Anyone looking to participate in the political discourse and advancement of Jammu and Kashmir should consider joining Congress. Our doors are open for those ready to aid in the party’s mission to elevate the state from its current challenges,” Karra remarked during a party event.
The gathering aimed to welcome numerous former panches and sarpanches from Rajouri, including BJP General Secretary Shazia Tabassum Choudhary and ex-servicemen Rajesh Sharma and Neeraj Singh, who joined the Congress at its headquarters.
Karra affirmed, “The Congress is dedicated to the people’s cause and will consistently uphold their hopes and concerns.” He criticized the BJP-led government, labeling it as “anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-farmers,” claiming that its “poor policies” have significantly increased the hardships faced by the populace.
“This insensitive government has compelled people to suffer as unemployment rises, prices climb, and development efforts falter,” he alleged.
Karra characterized Congress as a vehicle for public service, remaining devoted to addressing the needs of the people.
“Congress is obliged to respond to the desires and expectations of its constituents. It has been at the forefront of implementing transformative initiatives aimed at improving conditions for those in remote and underprivileged areas,” he noted.
The new members expressed their enthusiasm about joining Congress and vowed to strengthen the party at the grassroots. (Agencies)
