JAMMU, Jan 4: In response to the violent assault on Advocate Kanav Sharma in New Plot last Friday, a work shutdown was observed today across all courts in the Jammu province.
The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu vehemently condemned this brutal attack, which posed a serious threat to the life of one of its valued members, and demanded immediate actions to guarantee the safety and security of all Advocates.
While speaking to the media at the High Court complex, K Nirmal Kotwal, Advocate & President of JKHCBAJ, stressed the necessity for stringent safety measures for Advocates both inside and outside court premises. He also highlighted the importance of safeguarding the common people and the general public.
Kotwal urged the Police and administration to take proactive measures and act swiftly in addressing each case. He expressed gratitude towards the Police and medical professionals who worked diligently to apprehend the culprits and ensure the Advocate’s safety.
The team from the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu also extended their thanks to the leaders of various peripheral Bar Associations, including those in Kathua, Samba, R S Pura, Akhnoor, Bishnah, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, and Rajouri, for their solidarity in voicing against the rising crimes affecting the public in general and Advocates specifically.
