JAMMU, Nov 30: On Saturday, a suspected criminal was apprehended under the strict Public Safety Act (PSA) in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police representative confirmed.
Gulam Rehmani, also known as “Bachu”, is a resident of Rakh Barotian and is implicated in several criminal cases registered at the Vijaypur Police Station. His activities have been deemed a “serious threat” to public peace and order, according to the official.
Due to his continuous involvement in unlawful activities, the Samba district magistrate authorized a detention order based on comprehensive reports compiled by the police, the representative stated.
A police team executed the warrant effectively, resulting in Rehmani’s imprisonment in the district jail in Kathua.
